C23 Religious Identity

Scope note:

Religious identity of a person in the sense of perception by surrounding society, participation in religious events (e.g. going to church) and contribution to define one' self-concept in the sense of public preference for a specific religion or religious denomination. The official membership in a religious group or Church is not modeled with this class, only the religious social quality of a person.

Examples:

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was known to be Catholic.
