C35 Actor's Quality in Relation to an Event

Subclass of:

Scope note:

This class expresses the association of an actor with a spatio-temporal or intentional event in which it is not necessarily present, but to which it is known to be associated with a specific role (e.g. the sponsor of a concert, the official organiser of a conference, the commissioner of a murder). This intentional phenomenon, present in the minds of the observers in the form of a propositional object, gives the actor a specific social quality in relation to the event.

It is important to note that if the actor is actually participating in the event with a specifc role, the sdh:C15 Participation class should be used to capture this information. In this case, the present class can be used to capture one or more social qualities associated with the actor in his participation to the event, e.g. being present as the ambassador of a king.

Furthermore, if other events are known that are at the origin of the actor's quality, like the event of providing funding for the event that mekes on to be a sponsor, or the meeting in which the murder was commissioned that makes one to be the principal in a murder, these should be produced as distinct instances of the crm:E5 Event class or specific subclasses.
