This class expresses the association of an actor with a spatio-temporal or intentional event in which it does not necessarily participate but to with which it is associated with a specific role (e.g. the sponsor of a concert, the official organiser of a conference, the commissioner of a murder). This intentional phenomenon, present in the mind of the observers, provides a specific social quality at the same time to the actor and to the event.

It is important to note that if the actor is actually participating in the event with a specifc role, the sdh:C15 Participation class should be used to capture this information. Also if some events are known relating to the actor's role, like the event of providing funding as a sponsor, or the series of events regarding the organisation of the conference, or the meeting in which the murder was commissioned, these should be produced as instances of the crm:E5 Event class or specific subclasses.
