Scope note:

This class comprises real animals who live or are assumed to have lived.

Although they may be considered to be animals from a biological point of view, human beings are not comprises in this class. C67 Animal is disjointed from crm:E21 Person.

Examples:

Bucephalus, horse of Alexander the Great.

Rin Tin Tin, male German Shepherd who became an international star in motion pictures.

Cher Ami, male homing pigeon who had been donated by the pigeon fanciers of Britain for use by the US Army Signal Corps in France during World War I.
