Scope note

Text

This class comprises concepts denoted by terms from thesauri and controlled vocabularies used to identify more precisely an instance of a class without needing to create sub-classes of that class. Instances of a class can only be linked to a unique instance of C50 Kind and this relation is rigid, i.e. it lasts during the whole existence of an instance and cannot be changed.

Instances of C50 Kind, while in essence similar to instances of E55 Type, have a different function of further specifying the intension of an instance of a class, whereas instances of E55 Type can be used to epistemically classify instances of a class.

Instances of C50 Kind represent concepts in contrast to instances of E41 Appellation which are used to name instances of classes.
