Scope note
- Text
Instances of this class associate a geographical location with a type which is supposed to express some characteristic of the place describing it as objectively as possible at a given time or during a given time-span. The classification can change over time and multiple classifications of the same place, if objective enough to be generally acceptable, are possible at the same time if they are related to the same identity of a place. E.g. a village can become a large town, then decay and become a phantom city in later times, but still remain a built area.
