Scope note

Text

"A mechanism is the association of several parts linked together by physical contacts that make them totally or partially solid, depending on whether they allow relative movements or not. The mechanical linkage is the model used to describe this relationship, the consideration of which is essential in the study of mechanisms. It uses mathematical representations which differ according to whether it is approached from the kinematic aspect (study of movements or guidings) or from the static aspect (study of the transmission of forces).
