This class comprises the socio-legal ceremony, under the jurisdiction of and issued by a civil or religious entity, where usually two individuals get married. This is a special case of a Legal Quality Acquisition where each partner of the union acquires the social role of Spouse.

Other participants of the Wedding event can be documented with the class Participation (for the witnesses, officiants, etc.)

This class documents only the event in which the partners receive the social role of Spouse. For documenting the Marriage itself, with the temporal boundaries from its start (the wedding) to its end (the death of one of the partners or divorce), the class Social Relationship should be used.
