Scope note

Text

This class comprises types used to classify instances of sdh-info:C20 Research Concept according to their general nature, function, or role within a research context. A Research Concept Type provides a higher-level categorisation that distinguishes different kinds of research concepts, such as theoretical, methodological, analytical, descriptive, or domain-specific concepts.

Instances of this class are used to structure and organise instances of sdh-info:C20 Research Concept by indicating the kind of conceptual entity they represent, without defining their specific content. This supports consistency, comparability, and interoperability in research documentation by enabling the grouping of concepts that share similar epistemic or functional characteristics.

As a subclass of crm:E55 Type, a Research Concept Type itself constitutes a controlled conceptual category that can be related to Research Concepts though a Research Concept Classification.
