This property assigns to any instance of crm:E1 CRM Entity a literal string representing the preferred human-readable label. This property's value is intended to be the default label used for identification and display purposes in user interfaces, search results, and listings.

This property is equivalent to skos:prefLabel.

Semantically, it is a shortcut for the following path: crm:E1 CRM Entity → ^sdh:P11 has appellation for language → sdh:C11 Appellation in a Language → sdh:P13 refers to name → crm:E41 Appellation → crm:P190 has symbolic content → crm:E62 String, As a shortcut property, it simplifies access to the preferred appellation value without providing the full SDHSS naming pattern.

This property does not replace the explicit modelling of appellations using sdh:C11 Appellation in a Language and crm:E41 Appellation, but provides a simplified access point for applications. It is intended purely for identification and presentation, not for analytical or classificatory reasoning. Full appellation modelling should be retained for detailed linguistic, historical, or contextual analysis.
