Scope note
- Text
This class comprises journeys of a carrier such as a bus, train or ship from one geographical place to another.
The identity of the journey will be provided by specific types. The voyage can be realized in several parts and thus decomposed in several instances of this same class, associated with the sdh:P5 is part of property. Also, it can have several stops that will be represented by instances of the sdh-voy:C2 Stopover class.
In the case of a vehicle composed ad hoc of different parts, which may not remain in that composition after the trip, the identity of the object is given by its participation in the journey. For example, two TGV trains are joined together for a part of the journey but travel independently for the rest of the journey. In this case there will be three carriers travelling, the two separate trains and the complete train, and three sections of the journey: two complete for each single train and one for the composite train.
The different sections of the same trip can also be filled in using the sdh_voy:P8 is continuation of (continues in).
It should be noted that timetables for trains, ships, etc. should not be modelled using this class as these are plans, i.e. intentional entities, and not physical objects actually in motion during a particular journey.
