This class comprises the quality state of an instance of crm:E21 Person of being classified with a type that is supposed to express some characteristic of the person that describes it as objectively as possible at a given time or during a given time-span. The classification can change over time and multiple classifications of the same person, if objective enough to be generally acceptable, are possible at the same time if they are related to the same identity of a person.

This class should not be used to express activities, social roles or institutional functions of persons (for these there are specific classes), but only to provide a generally acceptable classification of sets of persons in the perspective of a research question.
